Process Engineer (Manufacturing) ; Soybean / Biodiesel Refinery

This company is one of the world’s leading exporters of wheat, corn, oilseeds and cotton in the US, a dynamic and essential market for agricultural commodities, as well as a leading sugar refiner and distributor.  And this facility, which first began operations in 2007, is now the largest fully integrated soybean processing and biodiesel plant in the United States.  Position reports to the General Superintendent located in Claypool, IN.

 

Duties:

  • Provide assistance to manufacturing operations including troubleshooting of assembly issue, special testing and assistance in identifying root cause
  • Provide corrective actions to production or product design improvements
  • Lead and coach production personnel on process, equipment, and analytical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Assist manufacturing in setting up lines and cells to build new and existing products using modern ‘lean’ manufacturing practices
  • Develop new processes based on new technology requirements
  • Assure that all Engineering models/drawings and specification are adequate to accurately define all manufacturing and quality requirements to produce a product that meets design requirements
  • Coordinate with engineering on all functional test requirements of existing and new products. Assure that customers receive a product that meets all the quality and reliability standards
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for Supervisors and work center to monitor key production processes

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree
  • 2+ year’s relevant manufacturing experience. Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, or other change control processes
  • Self-directed and results-oriented
  • Ability to work autonomously or as a contributing team member
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement efforts
  • Broad knowledge of production machinery, machine programming, machining processes, assembly tools and processes
  • Knowledge of Lean philosophies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and/or 5S
  • Strong analytical skill and good organizational skill

Salary:$ 80-100K; benefits, 5%-20% bonus; 401K, Relo Assist, EOE, No Sponsorship
